Eccentric Seal was leaking on my Troy Bilt Horse Tiller

2. Tilt the tiller forward so you have more room and can get to the eccentric shaft a little easier.
3. Take the linkage loose that connects the speed selector to the shaft.
4. Drive the squeeze pin out usin ... Read more g a hammer and a punch.
5. Slide the shifter off of the shaft.
6. Use a small screwdriver to remove the old seal and whip everything down with a clean cloth.
7. Put the new seal in making sure it is pushed in as much as possible. The punch will work well again.
8. Put the shifter back on the shaft making sure it is in the same position as when it was removed and drive the squeeze pin in with the hammer and punch.
9. Reconnect the linkage for the shifter and the tiller is ready to go.

Axle oil seals were leaking on my Troybilt Horse tiller

Using hammer and narrow screwdriver drive the screwdriver through the seal and pry out of casting.
Remove circlip from both sides of axle.
Remove old thrust washers and replace with new.

Apply a small amount of gasket sealer to outside of axle seals.
Push seals over axle ends and with an appropriate size piece of pipe and carefully tap into place.
Reinstall wheels using new roll pins to secure to axle.
