Product Description

?

This is a Genuine Manufacturer Sourced replacement part. This is a Carbon Brush with Lead Wire attached and a Spring. This Brush is Sold Individually. Please note Brush Holder is Sold Separately. Carbon motor brushes are one of the most commonly replaced power tool components. Because carbon brushes are wear items, meaning that through friction and use they will gradually wear away, they will eventually require replacement. It is recommended to replace both brushes at the same time. You would need a Screwdriver and Pliers to complete this job.

Before I ordered the the brushes from eReplacement, I removed the old brushes from the table saw. They were completely worn to a \"frazzel\". I actually took a chance on the new brushes that they would be correct. They looked so close in the picture I said, \"Why not\"..... My first order was for 2 brushes and they worked fine. Then anoth er similar saw came along so I had to order more. This time ordered 6...... What the heck.... They work fine plus I have some extras....... yeah..... I do need a brush cap though...... Can\'t seem to find one... I may have to make one.... glug....

1. Unplug power
2. Remove saw blade
3. Tilt saw with power switch up
4. Remove backing off power switch
5. Remove cable clamps and green ground wires. This will help in access the connector easier.
6. Unplug connectors from the motor to the power switch
7. Remove motor bracket mounting bolts
8. Re move black brush caps and pull out brushes. Replace if necessary. Put everything back together and verify problem solved. If your brush tubes are melted you will need to continue.
9. Remove 4 screws from motor housing.
10. Pull motor out
11. Remove 2 screws which holds the black plastic bracket and remove bracket.
12. Remove coil pack. Disconnect black and white wires from brush tube. Set coil pack down.
13. Remove old brush tube by tapping the back side. They come out through the top. I used a pry bar, gave it a few taps, then used a flat tip to remove it. Remember the position of the electrical connector.
Note: My new brush tubes came with the electrical connector straight. You will have to bend them 90 deg AFTER you install them.
14. Install new brush tube exactly how it came out. Tube electrical connector should be towards the inside Tap with mallet.
15. Use needle nose pliers to bend tube connector 90 deg. Use same pliers to connect black and white wires. DO NOT INSTALL new brushes until you install the motor first.
16. Install coil pack and black plastic bracket secure with 2 screws. Make sure you have enough slack on your green ground wire.
17. Install motor. Tap with mallet. Then turn more and look inside motor housing to make sure the spinning motor doesn\'t touch brush tube wire or connector. If it does, bend tube connector until it is clear of the motor.
18. If motor spins freely, install 4 motor screws and green ground wire.
19. Install new brushing and black caps.
20. Put back together and verify problem solved.

Unscrewed retaining caps on each side of motor housing, inserted new brushes, and reinstalled caps. (Please note that this review is for a normal repair. Unfortunately, the slot for the replacement brush on one side of my Rigid table saw was slightly undersized, and my brush would not fit into it, which turned an extremely simple repair i nto a somewhat daunting task which I have not yet fully completed. This is NOT the fault of the ereplacement parts, but of the table saw itself.)
