This item has been sourced from the original manufacturer to be used with table saws from DeWalt. The metal shaft is used to support the gearcase that drives the saw blade. The shaft links the gearcase to the trunnions that allow the blade to change height depending on the thickness of the material being cut. This elevating shaft is sold as a single item.
had to remove both end covers to access the rails to remove bent rail
had to unmount the power switch since it hindered removal of the side cover
and remove adjustment handles also
