?This is an authentic Penn replacement part manufactured for use with spinning reels. The main gear assembly is driven by the handle assembly to actuate the crosswind and pinion gears that cause the rotor to revolve around the spool when reeling in line. This main gear assembly is available as an individual replacement part, please see model diagram for associative parts.

1. Remove the drag knob and spool.
2. Remove reel handle from left side of reel if installed.
3. Remove the four screws that hold the left side cover with a flathead screwdriver.
4. Remove the side cover with bearing.

6. Remove spool shaft assembly.
7. Remove main gear.
8. Apply grease to new main gear and install.
8. Reassemble in reverse order.
