Product Description

?

This replacement part is supplied directly from original equipment manufacturer for use with Toro snow blowers/throwers. Scrapers are designed to absorb a lot of friction while the machine is in operation. You can tell that a snowblower has a worn scraper because it will no longer be able to clear the sidewalk, leaving patches behind. Please note, paddles and scrapers are designed to wear at approximately the same rate, so it's always a good idea to replace them both at the same time. This scraper blade is sold individually. Replacing it is a quick and simple task that would only require a wrench to complete this repair. • Make sure the unit is off and spark plug is disconnected • Remove the scraper bolts • Pull the old scraper off of the unit • Press the new scraper onto the lip of the impeller • Secure the bolts and nuts

Socket set
Parts Used:

1. Removed as much gas as I can from tank
2. Tilted snow blower back on to handle to get to bolts. Easier if on a shop table!!!
3. Shot bolts to be removed with WD40 - let it sit awhile.
4. Using a 5/8\" (I think) socket I took off old scrapper
5. Used a hammer to tap off the old scrapper.
6. The housing of s now blower was slightly bent from 23years of use, so I used a 3lb hammer to carefully straighten the housing.
7. Align hole in new scrapper with mounting holes on housing and tapped into place with hammer
8. Starting from one end I put bolts into place and slightly tightened until all 3 bolts were in place
9. Tightened all bolts once in place.
10. The exploded view showing the parts on your web page helps tremendously in figuring on how to approach the job.

Not throwing snow very far and getting clogged in deep snow

Removed old rotor blades. Two nuts were difficult to get at but could barely get a small wrench between blade and housing to hold the nuts. Replacing the same two nuts difficult to get them to line up with the bolt while holding them with a needle nose pliers. Finally got a slightly longer bolt and that worked. Scraper blade had carriage bolts and they eventually turned before getting the nuts loose. Tried heating them, using liquid wrench, drilling them, finally used a grinder on my electric drill and after 10-15 minutes on each head was able to pound the bolt through and replace the scraper. My snowblower was quite old and probably had never had the scraper replaced.

There were three bolts to remove. I just used some liquid screw to loosen them and removed the damaged part. The new bar didn\'t go on as easy as I anticipated but that was on me not the part. The hands don\'t work as well as they used to. Fast shipping and easy ordering were a plus. The cost was a little more than I expected but wh en you are older, you can say that about pretty much everything. I would order from them site again. Thanks.

Total Repair Time:
1- 2 hours
Tools:
Nutdriver, Pliers, Screw drivers, Socket set, Wrench set
1. Removed side panel cover over drive train
2. Removed and replaced Drive belt.
3. Removed Scraper Blade bracket
4. Removed old Scraper Blade
5. Straightened bottom panel on which scraper blade mounts (badly bent)
6. Installed new Scraper Blade
7. Removed and replaced Rubber Impeller Blades (This is th e worst part. There is no access to side nuts without removing the impeller shaft, drive pulley, bearings, belt, etc. Use small needle-nose vise-grips to hold the nuts in place, AND hold the rubber blade to the impeller shaft frame while driving the Torx bolts with a power nut driver, and a Flex-extension on the driver).
8. Replaced Side panel.

Changing rotor blade was difficult because of tight space to work in. Reassembling plastic covering and control panel was the most difficult. Had to loosen all bolts on front and rear covering to aline and reassemble. Drive belt, spark plug, gas lines and filter were the easiest. One bolt on drive belt side cover was worn down so much cou ld not use wench, had to drill out and replace.
