A spark plug is used to deliver electric current to the internal combustion engine. Over time spark plugs tend to become dirty or fouled eventually requiring replacement. The spark plug gap should be set in accordance with the owners manual of the outdoor product you have. You will need a spark plug wrench or a socket wrench to remove or install the spark plug.

I was missing one of the four flange locks, it must have fallen last winter season. The spark plug is just to complete the tune up before the winter.

I did a tune up on my Ariens Snowblower:
1) Replaced missing flange screw
2) Changed oil
3) Replaced spark Plug
4) Cleaned carburetor
5) Cleaned and greased drive system
6) Greased auger
7) Tightened bolts

Auger cable broke , chute cable broke , shear bolt broke ,misc parts needed replacing

I removed all broken or worn out parts.
Next I cleaned all surfaces of product with non abrasive solvent
Re installed all cables and rusted parts with new parts from ereplacements and now my snow thrower is a beast again. Thanks
