This air filter is found on a Makita Chainsaw and is used to filter dust and debris from entering the carburetor. It is recommended to check the air filter regularly and clean when needed. Over time the filter can become worn down and require replacement to prevent the particles of the filter from clogging the carburetor and engine. This filter is made of a foam material and is sold separately.
