The switch broke and the cord was frayed.

1. Removed the screws from the router housing.
2. Pulled apart the housing.
3. Removed carbon brush blocks.
4. Removed switch and disconnected wires. Documenting where the four wires are attached.
5. Cleaned stator, rotor, inside of housing. Cleaned and lubricated bearings.
6. Replaced switch, installed new one, cut the two existing power wires on the old switch.
7. Left old switch connectors intact with 1 1/2\" of existing black and white wires.
8. Soldered new B&W wires to short sections of old wire with connectors, use heat shrink tubing.
9. Used old strain relief and cord clamp to install new cord.
10. Reassembled router housing, reinstalled carbon brush blocks.

Power cord broke

1. Removed housing screws
2. Opened one side of housing
3. Removed (2) screws that hold the cord in place
4. Unscrewed the white & black wire from power trigger.
Re-Assemble
Repeat steps backwards (4-1)

Broken conductor in power cord

Replaced the power cord and strain relief. Also replaced motor brushes. Very easy repairs!

Cord was cut, older sander, so replaced brushes at the same time

Removed the six screws holding half of the body
Removed the switch
Removed wires from switch
Note: new cord does not have eyelets on end, had to add
Reattached wires to switch
Reattached body
Replaced brushes
Runs like new

Electric cord was deteriorating and switch cover rubber had deteriorated.

Removed Phillips screws from the back housing. Removed cord, rubber boot over cord and switch. Removed rubber switch cover from switch, discarded. Removed old cord by compressing quick lock spring and pulling out wires. Removed boot from old cord. Stripped and soldered ends of new cord and slipped boot over cord. Inserted new cord w ires into quick release spring, keeping polarity the same. Fit new rubber boot over switch. Reinstalled switch, cord and cord boot into drill and reassembled rear housing. Reinserted and tightened Phillips screws. Done.

1. Removed the screws on handle half
2. Removed the handld half (cover)
3. Removed screws from cord strain relief
4. Noted location of wires and removed from finger switch
5. Removed ring terminals from old cord and removed cord from guide
6. Inserted new cord through cord guide and installed strain relief
