This replacement cork rubber plate is specially designed for use with Makita belt sanders. It is a genuine OEM sourced part, not an aftermarket equivalent. This part should be inspected periodically and replaced if showing signs of wear to ensure optimum performance. Includes one plate per order. Please note, the steel plate and the screws are sold separately. To complete this repair job you will need a screwdriver. • Unplug the sander • Remove the steel plate • Remove the old cork rubber plate • Secure the new one in place • Reattach the steel plate

Driving roller coating dry rot.

Removed belt housing cover, then spring clips. Removed gears then driving roller.
Greased roller shaft and added where needed.
Removed steel and cork plate, cleaned surfaces and reinstalled new units.
Lubricated all flexible sections of unit.
Sander is like brand new.

The rubber on the origional drive roller had dry rotted and was coming off in chunks

1, Unscrewed and removed the drive belt cover and the housing cover on the opposite side.
2, Removed the drive belt.
3, Removed the retaining clip and the washers on the old roller.
4, Installed the new roller, the washers and attached the retaining clip.
5, Packed in some new grease and reassembled.
6, Insta lled the new sanding belt and tested the tool.

Remove the screw on the opposite side of the edge guard, then replace with the new edge guard. To replace the sole plate and cork. Remove the screws from behind them and remove the worn parts. Line up the screws and both parts and strap and secure them with the screws.
