Clean the tool with compressed air so the loose dust doesn\'t enter the gearbox when opened.

1. Remove the drive belt and gearbox cover, remove snap ring on shaft end.
2. Pull out the old drive roller assembly, retain the inner washer for re-assembly.
3. Using high quality lubricant, grease shaft of new part, and put new assembly in place.
4. Replace drive gear, washer, and snap ring.
5. Clean out any old dried grease and re-supply gearbox with appropriate lubricant.
6. Reassemble gearbox cover, replace drive belt, and install belt shield.
It\'s a good idea to remove and re-grease the front idler roller shaft at the same time as the other repairs are done.

I replaced the bushings, cup wasers, and shaft inside front roller.
I removed the sanding belt. I cut off and ground down 2 8d nails to fit the holes in the keeper ring at one end of the shaft, then wired them together at the opposite ends so I could insert the nails into the holes in snapring and using a screwdriver as a wedge, e xpand it enogh to pop it off. from there it was just a matter of punching out the bushings and putting things back in reverse order.
