This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. The outer housing is found in Makita compact routers. This part is made of metal, and is used to hold the motor assembly in the trimmer base. You will require a screwdriver when replacing this part. This item is sold individually.
Just disassembled the router by removing the brushes first and carefully pulling out the armature and then pulling off the damaged or supposedly damaged parts. It seems the vibrating went away.
This was relatively simple to fix. All that was needed was to remove the four screws from the top of the router, remove the collect and nut on the spindle, and the housing slid off without any fuss. ... Read morethe router. I used very light pressure with a clamp and wooden blocks (so as not to mar the new housing) just to ensure the bearing was fully seated. Once the four top screws were tightened, I added the collect and collet nut. The Router performs like new.
