It is a genuine OEM supplied replacement brush holder assembly that is specially designed for use with Porter Cable and Dewalt routers. The purpose of a carbon brush is to conduct electric current by maintaining physical contact with an armature. Please note one durable carbon brush and a metal holder with a spring and a lead wire are included per order. It is recommended to replace both brushes at the same time.
Remove the screws from the top of the router, and remove cap. Unscrew the brush and holder assembly and disconnect. Install the new brush and holders. Then attach the top to the router. Your done.
remove cover with torque driver.
Disconnect wire to brush holder assy.
Remove torque screw holding brush holder assy to frame.
remove old and install new assy. Install torque screw
Connect wire to assy.
install cover
plug unit in and test
