Replaced both upper and lower bearings. Remove top cap (2 screws) with 2.5mm hex key. Pull speed adjust by pulling back out of retainer. Remove brushes, I used a bent paper clip to pull the spring retainers back. Next remove 2 PH screws holding the top assembly to the windings. Pull off the top assembly. ... Read moreng screws(2). Remove the shaft nut on the armature. At this point the armature can be pulled from the housing. Simply remove/replace the bearings. Reverse to re-assemble. You really don\'t need pullers but small bearing pullers are cheap. If you replace bearings on any power tool its worth the $12. for a puller.
Removed top cover (4 screws).
Removed brushes (2 screws on each brush holder).
Removed plunge base.
Removed nut on lower shaft (recessed in bottom of housing).
Removed upper and lower bearings.
Replaced bearings and re-assembled.
Removed Top Bearing cover and pulled brush springs and brushes from commutator. Disassembled lower lock nut after removing lower slide and height adjustment assembly. Care should be taken when removing lower plate as plunge spring has a tiny ball at the top and is easily lost. Remove lower bearing cover after removing bearing lock nut. Ta
... Read moreking care of the small parts and brushes. Removed armature from housing. Removed bearings and replaced same. Polished the commutator in a lathe while the armature was out of the housing. Reassembled the same. Router runs great again for a 15 year old.
1.Disassembled the router to access the bearing.
2.Clamped the locking plier to the bearing.
3.Placed the screwdriver on the bearing and began hitting the handle of the driver to remove the bearing from the shaft.
