fairly easy fix -- the part is perfect
This is a recessed light fixture for a Braun range hood. It needed to be replaced because the original socket fell apart when trying to replace the bulb. That should never happen, but oh well. The main challenge was retrieving the connector through the hole in the hood. The wires were held in place by a plastic tie, which I had to cut before being able to retrieve the connector through the hole in the hood. Once that was done, it was easy to "plug in" the new fixture. The assembly is replaced by positioning it correctly and then rotating it clockwise. So far so good. It's an expensive fix at $50 but better than getting a new hood!
