Product Description

?

This is a genuine Presto replacement part, it is sold individually. The purpose of the 09906 Pressure Cooker Sealing Ring/Automatic Air Vent Pack is two-fold. The sealing ring is used to create a seal between the Pressure cooker lid and the pressure cooker pot. In the event if the pressure regulator fails, and to much pressure builds up in the pot, the Automatic Air Vent will pop out of the lid releasing the excess pressure in the pot.

I completed the repair according to the instructions included with the replacement parts kit and it was easy. The cooking oil tip for ease of use for the first couple of times when seating the lid on the cooker was a good idea and it works well now. The \"tool type\" above wouldn\'t let me enter the correct model-the item I have is a Pres to 4 quart pressure cooker, model C401B.

I have had my pressure cooker for 47 years and the bottom handle was shot...probably from bearing the brunt of the weight of the cooker plus food for so many years.

I checked the model number and found both the upper and lower handles were still available. I ordered a new sealing ring and automatic air vent, since it had been years since I replaced those. The worst part of the repair was unscrewing the handles. I sprayed on a lubricant and fortunately, my husband was able to unscrew both handles. The replacement parts arrived quickly and doing the repair was a piece of cake. The bottom handle doesn\'t fit as securely as I would like, but I can\'t seem to screw the handle on any tighter. It is tight enough that I feel it won\'t be a problem. I love this pressure cooker and I am thrilled with the results!!!

Removal and replacement was easy. Just follow the enclosed instruction. I cleaned up the pressure cooker after the handle, vent pipe and ring(along with safety value) were removed. The pressure cooker should last another 44 years. The booklets that were purchased were to replace lost/missing booklets.
