This is an authentic Echo replacement part manufactured for use with pole pruners and pruner attachments. The special gear is used with another gear that has a slot on one end to adjust the bar using a flat head screwdriver. This gear has a square arbor that allows the tensioning bolt to fit into it, and the gear turns the bolt which moves the chain tensioner. This gear is sold as an individual replacement part, please see model diagram for associative parts.
