1. Removed the side cover
2. Removed the friction retainer from the end of the shaft holding the broken part
3. Removed the retaining screw from the broken part where it joins the shaft
4. Removed the end of the broken bracket and the arm from the shaft.
5. Replaced the broken bracket.

Removed the round press tabs...slid the old piece that was broke off ..then slid the new one on...slid the round tab back on...then installed into the planer...took less than 3 minutes

3. Removed retaining washer from shaft holding lock arm
4. Removed broken arm
5. Installed new arm on shaft and secured end with screw
6. Replaced retaining washer
7. Cycled lock mechanism to ensure proper operation
