1. Removed the side cover
2. Removed the friction retainer from the end of the shaft holding the broken part
3. Removed the retaining screw from the broken part where it joins the shaft
4. Removed the end of the broken bracket and the arm from the shaft.
5. Replaced the broken bracket.
6. Re-attached the scre w holding the end of the bracket
7. Reattached the friction retainer
8. Replaced the side cover
