It is a genuine OEM sourced replacement part designed for a Porter Cable nailer. This gasket provides an air-tight seal for the exhaust cover. Over time gaskets tend to shrink, become brittle and crack eventually requiring a replacement. It is made from high quality composite material and it is sold individually.
Removed the top of the nail gun
Removed the defective parts
Cleaned the small parts of the piston stop from the cylinder
Installed the new parts
Oiled the internal parts of the nail gun
Placed the top of the nail gun back on
Nail gun shoots great now
Disassembled, replace piston, seal and gasket. Reassembled, connected to compressor to test.
No longer was leaking air and would fully drive and countersink nails.

Lost pressure in nailer with hissing sound present
Removed head. Removed debris from damaged piston stop. Replaced head gasket as well. Reassembled with new piston stop and gasket.
