After a 10 min bread dough knead with the hook attachment, the hook stopped spinning, but I could hear the motor continuing to try. How do I know if it's the worm gear or something else?

Hi Dana, Thank you for your question. If the dough hooks will not rotate we would recommend checking the worm gear and drive, and the retainer pin. You will need to dismantle the mixer to verify which part is causing the issue. We hope this helps!

Watch the video. I also had to replace the center gear which is not intuitive. There is a pin that goes through the center shaft. What I would suggest however which is not shown in the video is to remove all the old grease and replace it with new food grade grease. 2. Removed the brushes.
3. Opened the motor and gear area.
