I used the disassembly/reassembly instructions on one of the eReplacementparts.com videos on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsbgUHAGWX4). It was excellent. From this, we discovered that we needed 4 parts in total - housing, bevel gear, worm gear, and one other part I can\'t recall the name of. We also needed to buy the planetar y grease. The video is extremely clear and lit well and it was very easy to follow in order to install all of the new parts.

This morning I used my newly repaired mixer to mix a batch of dough with no problems at all.

A tip: when removing the planetary, the grease may cause the fiber washer (B-11
Washer, Fiber Part #: 9703434) to stick underneath the main unit. I thought that I had lost this washer and ordered a new one. Be sure to check underneath to see if it\'s stuck there before deciding that the washer is lost and buying a new one.

Take your time and look at the drawings online and print out to reference as you make repairs. I replaced all the gears since the main drive gear was sheared. Mixer works good as new.

1) Removed top cover
2) Removed top of gearbox
3) Inspected gears and noted excessive wear
4) Cleaned out gearbox thoroughly to remove all old grease which was contaminated with steel & brass particles from the worm gears
5) Cleaned and greased all parts & bearings (both new and old) before installation
6) Ne w follower gear would not slide onto output shaft due to burrs around drive pin hole in the output shaft. Light filing was required to remove high spots and allow new follower gear to slide properly into place.

Teath missing from Worm Gear

I got my can of grease that I bought when the original plastic transmission cover broke and was replaced with the new cast metal cover 4 years ago. When the mixer didn\'t turn the beater shaft, I took the cover off, using a #2 Philips screwdriver, and then the transmission cover using the same tool. When I had it open, I discovered that 2 of the teeth on the Worm Gear had been broken. I didn\'t see this on the original repair and unless the gear stopped exactly at that spot, the machine ran fine.
I then removed the Transmission cover gasket, and the Worm Gear with the Front, Rear, and Thrust Bearings. I repacked the case with grease and greased the Worm Gear teeth and shaft, then installed the new Thrust Bearing and Front and Rear Bearings. I placed the assembled Worm Gear in it\'s proper position and set the gasket and Transmission Cover in place and reset the screws and tightened them down. I then plugged the machine in and tested it. Upon being satisfied that it was in proper running order, I replaced the cover.
