Product Description

?

This Trigger switch has 2 terminals. This genuine DeWalt replacement part is sold individually. Switches are commonly replaced parts in tools. A switch handles on/off and variable speed operations. They also have a role in electric breaking; they can momentarily reverse electrical polarity. Because switches use mechanical internals, they will degrade and wear out over time, eventually needing replacement. Some common signs of a broken or failing switch are as follows: The tool has completely stopped functioning – it will not start. The tool operates intermittently, requiring multiple tries to turn on, until eventually it won’t start at all. The variable speed function and electric braking aren’t working properly.

Had to remove some plastic to make room for new switch. Used the continuity tester to figure out the differences in the switching between the original switch and the new switch. Was a $40 fix instead of a $400 replacement.

4. I put the handle cover back on.

5. The brushes each had a cover that needed to be remove from the motor end of the saw.
6. Then they both have a small r ound cover that is removed with a flat head screwdriver.
7. The brushes slid right out & the new ones slid right in.

Removed the top handle and casing. Unplugged 2 wires on each side of the switch making sure to remember which wire was on top and bottom of switch on both sides. In my case I just took a picture of the wires before removing the bad switch making it easier for me to plug in the new switch. After plugging in the wires to the new switch I put the casing back together and then bolted the handle and the job was finished. The new switch worked great !!!
