It is a genuine item that is supplied by the original equipment manufacturer for use with Black and Decker, Delta and Porter Cable compound miter saws. The purpose of a carbon brush is to conduct the current in an electric motor by maintaining contact with an armature, over time it will wear away and begin to crack eventually requiring a replacement. This durable carbon brush is sold individually, keep in mind the brush holder is sold separately. It is advised to replace both carbon brushes at the same time.
