I disassembled the outer plastic housing to gain access to the motor. Once I had access to the motor I performed the disassembly in the following order:

Removed the carburetor and spacer, held in with two screws. Removed and replaced paper gaskets.

Removed the exhaust and heat shield, held in with two screws. Rep laced exhaust gasket

Removed the cylinder, held in with two machined screws. Replaced rubber base gasket

Removed piston assembly and ring.

Cleaned and checked the piston and cylinder bore for gouges. Removed and replaced cylinder ring.

Reassembled in reverse order.

The carburetor on a craftsman leaf blower that was given to me had gas left in it and dried inside the carburetor creating a sticky glaze and causing the the ports and and the needle valve and float to stick. Removed the phillips screws from top and bottom of the carb removed float by removing the small Philips head retaining screw that h olds the pin down for the needle valve .took carb cleaner sprayed down the hole carb being sure to clean out all the ports inside the carb and also used an air blow gun to blow them out. Also replaced the small screen inside the carb. Whenever you rebuild small carbs like these save yourself the hassle of taking it apart again to replace that screen and replace it while your at that point . Its not worth it taking a shortcut thinking your saving time. Used the carb rebuild kit I ordered from Ereplacementparts .com worked perfect put the carb back together and the blower was back in action. Took about a half hour to an hour to complete repairs. Keep in mind I have done so many of these small carbs I can do them in my sleep so for those who have had little experience doin this it may take a little longer. But it is very simple main thing is to make sure to clean the inside of the carb thoroughly and make sure all the ports are clean. They also sell a small set of nylon brushes you can get to clean the ports the brushes range from 1/4 inch all the way down to basically micro-scopic for those tiny ports inside these carbs.
Thanks Jim

took old cap off and put new cap on. Changing cap was a breeze.
Most time was used determining that the air bleeder in the original cap was not letting air into the fuel tank.
