This is an original replacement part manufactured for use with riding lawnmowers. The extension spring is commonly used to allow the idler pulley bracket to pivot when activating or turning off the blade rotation. This extension spring is available as an individual replacement part, please see model diagram for associative parts.

Took two bolts out of the mower deck after loosening the front bracket allowing the deck belt to be taken off. Put the spring back on, then the belt and tightened the front bracket back up that was all I had to do. Easy job.

1. Located the two spring attachment standoffs on the cutting deck of lawn tractor.
2. Removed the standoff shoulder bolts with 1/2ö wrench.
3. Slipped the hooked end of the spring onto the standoff bolt, and screwed the standoff bolt back onto the cutting deck. Perform this for both end of spring. Tighten each securely.

Removed mower deck. Replaced extension spring and reinstalled mower deck and drive belt. Spring is very strong you can not stretch by hand.
