This is an original part from MTD for use with Lawn Tractors. The blade engagement cable pulls and pivots the belt idler pulley to tighten the belt and spin the cutting blades. The most common reason for replacing the cable is if it is damaged, causing the mower blades to not engage. This part is sold individually. The tools that you will need to replace the blade engagement cable is a 3/8" socket, 1/4" socket, and pliers.
