Holder 790025

1) Removed the rear right tire,
2) Cleaned up around brake holder bracket,
3) Removed the brake lever arm by unbolting the 5/16 lock nut on the old brake pad holder,
4) Removed the old brake holder by removing the two 1-1/4 long 1/4 x 20 bolt & the other was 2-3/4 long 1/4 x 20 that had a 1 inch spacer & cleaned up the 2 ... Read more push pins and little steel plate
5) Removed & cleaned up the brake disc and replaced the inside old brake pad with a new pad on the inside brake holder,
6) Used a dab of anti seize on the brake disc shaft and slide brake disc back onto shaft,
7) Make sure the 2 push pins slide in and out of the holes freely used a little ant seize on the 2 push pins to keep them from binding up and keep the pins to slide in the holes & put the metal plate back on in between the pins and the brake pad,
8) Replaced the old outer brake pad with a new brake pad,
9) Then reversed the process putting the holder and bolts back on the 2-3/4 bolt with the 1\" spacer on my mower goes into the left side hole and the 1-1/4 bolt goes on the right side hole and tighten up,
9) Then reattach your brake lever arm and adjust tighten the 5/16 lock nut while spinning the brake disc by hand, you want to be able to spin the disc by hand but when you step on the brake you want it to not to be able to spin freely so tighten the 5/16 bolt a little at a time and check how the disc spins when setting the tightness of the 5/16 lock nut,
10) Push your mower by hand in neutral to make sure the mower moves freely and while it moving step on the brake to see if the mower stops if they both do well you should be good to go check your brakes each season because as your brakes ware down you will have to adjust that 5/16 nut as the brake pads ware down.
11) Try out how the mower stops and goes when started up and running if all works good you should be all set to mow your lawn,
