Lawn mower blades wouldn\'t disengage

Difficulty Level:
Easy
Total Repair Time:
15 - 30 mins
Tools:
Pliers
Parts Used:
584243501
1: Remove the spring and washer under the steering wheel housing and release the eyelet end of the old cable.
2: Use a pair of pliers to squeeze the tabs on the cable clip and pulling while wiggling the cable remove it.
3: Working toward the mower deck free the cable from all clips and holes. (Take mental notes or pictures if you need to on where the cable is routed.)
4: Using the pliers squeeze the tab on the spring end of the cable as in Step 2. (It can be easier of you lower the deck all the way down first.)
5: Remove the spring end of the cable from it\'s attachment point on the pulley system.
6: Reverse the order of the steps to install your new cable. The only difference is you don\'t need the pliers, you can just push the ends in and they just snap into place.
