Product Description

This is a genuine Husqvarna and Poulan part for use with Lawn Tractors. The steering shaft kit contains the parts needed to connect the steering wheel to the sector gear. The most common reason for replacing the steering shaft is when the steering wheel will not turn the mower. Here is a list of tools that are needed to install the steering shaft are a 3/4" socket, mallet, 3/8" socket, floor jack, pliers, and a 9/16" socket.

Remove deck
Remove hood
Remove battery and tray
Remove steering wheel and shaft
Remove steering bushings.

Remove steering wheel and housing. Remove both bushings. Slide out steering shaft. Go back with new in reverse.

Removed steering wheel cover, removed shaft retaining nut, removed steering wheel, removed shaft lock pin, hoisted front of tractor to remove original shaft. New shaft kit came with replaceable pitman gear making future repairs much easier and cheaper. Great fix for a common problem, someone should have thought about it years ago
