Since the bearing was missing, the wheel came off while mowing and the washer was bent, e-ring and cap destroyed, and obviously the bearing was not there. I hammered the washer flat with a hammer. Slid off the wheel, inserted the bearing, replaced, slid on the washer, used a plier to help snap on the e-ring and popped the cap back on wit h my hand. Easy and saved myself 100 bucks in labor and the trouble of taking it somewhere. Mower works great now.

Tie rod end worn out (came apart) and bearings worn.

1. Jacked up front end of mower.
2. removed nuts/washers from tie rod ends.
3. Replaced new tie rods with old nuts/washers.
4. Removed hub caps from front wheels and cleaned off excess grease.
5. Removed cotter pin, washer, wheel, inner washers, seal, and cap dust cover.
6. Removed inner and outer bearings wi th screw driver and hammer.
7. Replaced bearings and put everything back in reverse order.
8. Added grease to wheels between the bearings and replaced the hub caps.

Pulled the cotter pen
remove the wheel
used screwdriver and hammer to pop out the old bearings
cleaned out old grease
used a hammer and block of wood to hammer in new bearings
re-attached the wheel
grease hub

Front wheel bearing went bad.

1. Remove hub cap.
2. Remove cotter pin
3. Slide wheel off.
4. Remove remains of old bearings, washer and clean off old grease and debris.
5. install new bearing using large socket and hammer to drive bearing in place.
6. Put a generous amount of grease inside the wheel assembly.
7. Replace wheel assemb ly and lock in a new cotter pin.
8. Replace hub cap.
