This is a genuine manufacturer approved replacement mulching door torsion spring designed for use with lawn mowers. It allows for the mulching door to retract. This torsion spring is made out of metal and it is sold individually. Replacing this item you would need a wrench and pliers.
1. Removed the side discharge cover mount.
2. Inserted pin and spring connecting the side discharge cover to the mount.
3. Re-attached the mount using a screwdriver to hold the cover in the open position for easier access.
Removed the one bolt holding the bracket for the mulching plug and installed the new one in its place. Ordered a new pin and torsion spring, but it came with them already installed. I had to use a small pry bar to align the bracket that\'s under spring tension, to the mower deck
