Self-propelling is controlled by holding the operator presence control bar down to the handle and pulling either drive control lever rearward to the handle. The further toward the handle a lever is pulled, the faster the unit will travel. If after releasing the drive control the mower will not roll backwards, push the mower forward slightly todisengage drive wheels. Note, this high-quality assembly includes the plastic housing, two control levers, and the drive control cable. 1. Remove old cable
2. Turn mower on side
3. Fish new cable through hole in deck by taping cable end to metal clothes hanger.
4. Connect cable assembly to direct drive connection
5. Install handle assembly to handle bar.
Removed the blade and shroud from underneath the deck to gain access. Remove gearbox pulley then removed belt. Disconnected and removed control from handle and gearbox. Reversed order for installation .
I purchased the entire assembly , because I did not know the length of the cable.
Removing the current assembly and installing the new one was easy.
I am a 79 year young woman and this was easy for me, Had to consult Utube to find out where to connect the hook under the mower since the old one was broke off.
