Correct part that worked perfectly
My husband's drill casing was broke and he had in duct tape together. We were thinking we would have to replace the whole thing. It was great that we could find the right part and replace it at a very low cost compared to buying a brand new drill.

1) Removed the torx screws from the old clamshell.
2) Removed the motor, trigger assembly and battery connector from the old clamshell.
3) Transferred everything to the new clamshell.
4) Reinstalled the torx screws.
5) Did my happy dance.
Split the case, replaced parts by disconnecting electrical space ends. Reconnected. Tested and motor was opposite of desired direction. Disassembled and swapped electrical connections. Way more power than before! Looks good too with new case!
Remove the screws from the housing. Remove the right side (screw side) of the housing, help separate the halves by inserting and twisting a flat blade screwdriver if the they won\'t separate. Place the new half on the tool and press into place. Flip the tool and remove the other side of the housing again with the help of a screwdriver
... Read more if needed. Tease the rear bearing out with your screwdriver as it may be tight on this side. Place the remaining side. Be certain the fork on the forward/reverse button did not slide out of the lever on the switch. Grip the handle, snap the sides completely together, replace the screws. Novice time, 15 minutes. Second time, three minutes.
According to another reviewer, I ordered the anvil assembly AND spring. Turns out all I needed was the spring. I decided to replace the clam shell as well. I do metal roofing and my driver has taken a beating over the last couple of years.
I recommend trying to replace the spring first before you do anything else.

This is the spring located just under the sleeve that holds the ball bearing in place. On my driver the small section that secures the bearing had broken off from the spring.
Remove all the screws, used a box cutter to cut sticker then opened clam shell on old impact driver, removed changing switch, then removed all electrical from old unit and held everything together as best as possible transferred to new clam shell and closed up using screws.
