I had to completely disassemble the trimmer. I had no instructions and I had a few things happen that should not have. ... Read more changed the smaller ear and tried to turn the assembly to make sure it would work. So I then attached the cutting blades and tried to turn the blades though their motion. It would not complete a cycle. I could not tell why. A friend came by and as both of us looked at it he noticed that the blades were hitting on each other.So I filed the flat sides of both blades, and reinstalled them. I also filed the brush face where it hits the commutator. I put the motor back together and all of the switches. I had trouble getting the cases back together. But I managed and I plugged it in and it worked! I was thrilled because it is the best hedge trimmer out there.
