Removed the damaged vent assembly from the ceiling unit.
Removed the motor and blower wheel from the housing.
Removed the motor and blower wheel from the new vent assembly.
Cleaned the complete ceiling unit which includes a room light, night light, heating unit and exhaust fan. This unit is located in our bathroom and wa s caked with dust. I clean this unit twice per year and would recommend anyone that has one or something similar to do so at least annually.
Installed the new motor and blower wheel in the old housing.
Reinstalled in ceiling unit.
Works like new.

One you remove the light cover and remove the light bulb, which was the easy part.
Remover the three motor assembly screws.
The Model number 66RP-B was the bear. I had to install the motor bracket. The assembly holes where hard to get to because of the light fixture. I guess if I had a phillips screw start that would of help . The one that only needed the motor assy only took 30 minutes or so.

The new all metal vent assy was larger than the plastic version which required the electrical inside cover to be mounted correctly

The electrical wire box is very small for all the required wires for the heat/light/fan unit. The cover inside the box was mounted with the screw but the cover tab was not in the slot allowing more room for the wires. The new fan being larger would not fit.
1) Remove cover
2) Pull out all wiring and undue all connections ... Read more />3) Cut back more outer jacket and shorten and re-strip wire length
4) Remake all connections
5) Replace all wiring into the box and reinstall the inside cover
6) Install the replacement fan

Note: if cover had been properly install originally there would have been no issue. If installing a complete new heat/light/fan unit be sure to keep all wire connections as small as possible as there is very little room in the small box.

Removing the old fan was easy as it was a one piece unit. Putting in the new fan was not as easy as the replacement kit was not the same. I had to custom fit the new unit into the holes of the old unit. They did not align perfectly, which required a lot of forcing the replacement to fit. In the end, I was able to get the replacement p arts secured in place, and now the fan runs quietly.

turned off light switch to fan and light. Removed plastic housing and removed light assembly. I unplugged fan from outlet inside of housing. Removed 2 screws of old motor and it came right out. I followed instructions and installed scroll band with screws. I slide in new motor behind center bar that holds light assembly. I screwed new fan onto scroll band. And plugged new motor into outlet. I turned on light switch the fan wouldn\'t turn. I had to loosen screws from fan housing to scroll band and pull it down a little. I tried light switch again and fan ran perfectly.I would recommend this part. Nutone 668rp

Reuse old housing and throw away all parts but fan and motor. Much easier than trying to use the \"complete\" retrofit assembly. Trying to use the new retrofit housing would have taken much longer and been much more difficult. The new fan and attached motor fit perfectly into the existing old housing.
