This is an original Weber replacement part manufactured for use with outdoor gas grills. The igniter is an electrode that creates an electric arc that ignites the fuel that is emitted by the burners. The igniter is sold as an individual replacement part, please note the igniter button is available separately.
With the replacement instructions I was able to get a good idea as to how to replace the burners. It very simple to do.
