I had to remove part of the lever actuator and locking mechanism to insert the end of the cable and then reapply the locking circlip. Attaching the cable at the deflector end was straight forward. Be sure to check that the cable does not come into contact with the muffler by directing the discharge chute both far left and far right before starting the engine.

Fastened new cable into same path as old one had occupied. Added one additional fastener to reduce cable flexing.

Waited two weeks for the cable to arrive.
Removed the bolt holding the old cable end.
Cut the cable ties.
Removed the control shroud.
Disconnected the old cable from the control stick.
Reversed the process and cable-tied the new cable in-place.
