Reinstalled nut and tightened it with 3/4 socket

The steering wheel broke off and the muffler had a large crack in it
Removed the nut securing old wheel with impact wrench without any difficulty.
Installed new steering wheel which fit perfectly.
Installed old nut with impact wrench and snapped on cover plate.
1. Removed the rest of the steering wheel by removing the nut.
2. took the broken piece off.
3. Put the new steering wheel in place.
4. Replaced the nut.
5. Snapped the name plate back in place.
It was that simple. The only bad part was that when I had the mower fixed, I had to cut the grass!
Took off nut and washer. I tried it first with a socket wrench, then a box end wrench. I couldn\'t get enough torque as the steering wheel was hard to keep from turning.

Only had to remove cover plate and put a socket on the steering column nut to remove. Replaced broken steering wheel, tighten nut and away I went to mow.
