The thermal relief attaches to the pump assembly and helps to control the temperature. This part is an OEM sourced directly from the manufacturer for use in DeWALT pressure washers. It is available as an individual replacement part and is made of metal. When replacing this part a wrench and a set of pliers might be required during the installation process. It will need to be replaced if it allows the temperature in the pump to get too high.

Thermal relief valve was leaking water

Simply used an adjustable wrench to remove the thermal relief valve. The new one came with lock tight on it already. Screwed in the new one and popped on the plastic 90 degree fitting so the water if it did come out again would shoot straight down. Best thing to do if you have to goof around while power washing is to keep triggering the g un or shut it off so the water in pump doesn\'t heat up and pop the relief valve.
