Remove the transaxle from the tractor. Drained the oil. Took the bottom plate cover off and installed the new axle. Reassembled and tested.

broken right axle

Most of the time spent was to remove transmission from lawnmower. Once out repair took less than an hour.

Rear right axle shaft snapped

7073753YP, 1724304SM, 1718110SM, 2860202SM
Removed oil, opened up transmission body to expose axle shaft and other components to replace.
Removed broken shaft and replaced with new. Shaft seal was not correct that I received, so had to use existing.
Removed existing gasket material and replaced with new gasket sealant.
Put housing back together and tied until gas ket material started to squish out. Waited an hour to set up and tightened to torch specification.
Added oil back into transmission.
Installed back into lawn tractor and operated tractor.
