Product Description

?

This is a genuine OEM sourced replacement part, it is specially designed for use with Homelite generators. The purpose of this part is to mix air and gas before the fuel mix goes to the engine. If the engine won't start and the tank is full of fresh fuel or it starts and then quickly dies, the carburetor is likely the problem. This is a high-quality metal carburetor assembly which is sold individually.

Sorry, we couldn't find any existing installation instruction that matched.

Engine on 2010 Homelite HG5000 was \"surging\" after warm-up and with the choke lever pushed in. I was told by reliable source that carburetor needed replacement.

Pretty straightforward. Had to remove all parts of air cleaner and choke lever assembly, also disconnect fuel hose from old carburetor and two wires which I believe control a solenoid at bottom of carburetor. About a dozen metric nuts (9 and 10 mm) were removed; all bolts remained in place. Carburetor assembly itself just slid off of 2 bolts. Replaced 1 gasket which stuck to old carburetor on the engine side, slid new carburetor onto bolts and reversed earlier steps. One big caveat: when re-attaching choke lever assembly, be sure the position of the butterfly valve (open or closed) matches the position of the choke lever (in or out, respectively). I didn\'t do this and because valve was open, engine would not start and I had to tear down part way and re-assemble correctly. Then motor started on third pull and ran very smoothly.
