A friend gave me his old Ryobi tree pruner as he had upgraded. The unit leaked chain lube oil. Disassembly revealed that the oil tank gasket leaked around a gap and that the bar pad plate was missing (possibly as a result of an earlier chain sharpening or replacement). The gasket was replaced.
