Difficulty Level:
A Bit Difficult
Total Repair Time:
15 - 30 mins
Tools:
Pliers, Screw drivers
1. Remove the cover of the lawn mower.
2. Remove the old brush holders.
3. Cut the brush wires.
4. Carefully install the terminals in the brass brush holder with the spring behind it.
5. Reconnect the wires (be careful as the terminals are small and the spring will go flying out)
6. This is perhaps more than a basic knowledge repair.

Part of the magnet broke in the motor and in turn split the shunted brushes

Steve from Short Hills, New Jersey

Total Repair Time:
15 - 30 mins
Tools:
Pliers, Screw drivers, Wrench (Adjustable)
Parts Used:
241648-01, 070162-00
There\'s nothing difficult with the repair, but using the new terminal to clamp the connect between the power leads and the shunted brush isn\'t too easy to make it neat. But then again it doesn\'t have to be too neat. As long as they are clamped together reasonably, the terminal should fit back in ok to the slot for it in the motor..
