Genuine OEM replacement part, This item is sold as a kit. This is the complete Stringhead Assembly for the Trimmers shown below. It is a dual line head. To install this part, slide it on the spindle or shaft of the Trimmer The kit contains two Spool Retainers to secure the Stringhead. The red one has left hand threads and the black one has right hand threads. It will depend on the model you have, on which Spool Retainer to use. The cutting line diameter used in this Stringhead is .095

Pushed the new assembly onto the weedeater, put the end piece on, and off I went. It was very easy, having done the same thing with the old piece, on numerous occasions.

Old stringhead was difficult to take off.

Had to destroy old stringhead to access nut and remove it. After nut was removed using torch, it was easy to put in new replacement.

Both right hand and left hand threaded spool retainer are supplied. Be sure to use the proper one for your unit and throw the other away. Just remove the spool retainer then the old stringhead. Push the new stringhead on and tighten the spool retainer. Done.

Quite simple, remove old head and replaced with new head, Make sure you use the correct spool retainer. Black is RH threads and red is LH threads.

Removed what was left of the spool retainer, then removed the spool. Pressed the new spool on the threaded the new spool retainer on.

Remove the spool retaining nut, then remove the head assembly. Install the new head assembly and secure with the spool retaining nut. Untie the cord in the handle, then retie it in the new handle.

Unscrew the nut holding on the head with turn of the nut with hand and putting on the new head and I have a new trimmer.
