Range touch panel frozen in failure mode

Removed upper rear sheetmetal panel screws and panel. Removed four quick connect plugs from rear of touch panel. Plugged plugs into new touch panel while holding next to old touch panel. Removed old touch panels four attachment screws and defective touch panel. Removed adhesive backed clear touch panel face/cover off old touch panel, atta ched it to new touch panel face. Installed new touch panel with four screws. Attached sheetmetal panel. Powered up range, reset touch panel clock. Done. Didn\'t use surge protector, left previously installed one from previouly installed replacement panel several years ago.
