The original flywheel fan broke loose for its center support causing blades to break after the fan came in contact with the debris screen.

Had to install two threaded positioning pins in the top of the flywheel. The threaded holes for the pin were already there even though there were no positioning pins with the original flywheel fan. then had to drill 1/2\" holes in the fan for the head of the positioning pins to fit in. There were dimples in the fan at the location where t he 1/2\" holes were to be drilled. Once the holes were drilled it was just a matter of installing the fan and debri screen in the reverse order of removing the old fan and screen, making sure that a cutout on the bottom of the fan was located over the magneto magnet on the flywheel. Then reinstalled the plastic shroud over the overall assembly. Everything worked fine.

I was putting the shroud on the engine after some carb work, but missed one locator guide. On the oil stick assembly, there\'s a little wing that has to go in a guide on the shroud. I missed that one. When I started it up, the wing broke off nearly all the air fins on the original flywheel. The only thing hard about the repair was to get the shroud to line up with all the guides before buttoning it down.
