This is a genuine replacement part that has been sourced from the original manufacturer to be used with chainsaws from Poulan and Husqvarna. The rim is used to link the chain and the clutch drum to rotate the chain around the bar. This item is sold as an individual replacement part.
Take out spark plug.
Put piece of rope inside spark plug hole to stop engine rotation.
Remove clutch (reverse rotation)
Remove pieces that need to be replaced.
Replace with new parts (make sure washers and roller bearings in correctly, I lubed my bearings)
Re-assemble.
Test chainsaw.

I watched one of your repair videos and did the repairs in 10 min. The part was a direct replacement part and fit perfectly. Had to remove the spark plug and put a piece of rope in to stop the piston a turned nut off and replaced the part. Thanks so much for your help. Back up and running. Part came to my door in two days. Had to learn that it was a left handed thread. Then to shove a rope down the spark plug gap, then with hammer and wrench I could loosen the nut holding on the rim. The rest was self explainitory.
