Removed the gas line to the carb
Unplugged power wire to the solenoid
Used an open end box wrench to remove the solenoid
Removed old bowl gasket and installed new one
Re-attached bowl with new solenoid, tighten, and plug wire back in
Reattached gas line to carb

Engine would start cutting out and then it would quit running. Then it wouldn\'t start again until it cooled off.
Take the wires off of the carburetor solenoid and put a wrench between the solenoid and the carburetor Bowl and remove the solenoid. Then put the new one in its place. ... Read morelenoid got real hot again. I just change the pre-filter and the fuel filter because it needed it. I was glad two fine parts for my 16 year old craftsman lawn tractor to make it run like new again. I have run it for about 3 hours so far so good.
Remove old solenoid, replace with new one. Replacement looked different from original, but installed easily, worked great, only simple tools and a little patience required. No special skills
