All 4 wheel (16 yrs use) were cracked, bald and mostly worn out

1) Removed one front wheel assembly.
2) Installed new wheel assembly, (be aware the mounting boltÆs nut will fall from its location). I used a small piece of foam rubber to hold it in place.
3) Repeat for the other front wheel assembly.
4) Remove one rear wheel assembly. Again as with the front wheels, assure the nut sta ys put when taking the bolt out.
5) Using a parts brush and brake cleaning spray, clean all the old grease, grass, dirt or anything else from the grease zerk, drive gear and plastic grease housing and its bushing.
6) Apply a small amount of grease directly to the drive gear, put the bushing into its plastic housing, and install the wheel assembly.
7) Be sure to grease both new assemblies once installed.
8) Be amazed at the fact that we can be so accustomed to worn parts until those are replaced with new parts.
9) Hope this helps...

First I had to move wheel assembly to the highest mower (grass cutting) setting. Removed bolt from old wheel with socket wrench, then - while holding nut in place (with finger, behind wheel assembly) pushed bolt through new wheel, into area where nut was being held, finger tightened bolt, then tightened with socket wrench. Did this twice, to replace both front wheels.
