This is a genuine replacement part manufactured for use with riding lawnmowers. This metal spindle shaft is threaded on both ends, and sits inside the housing. The shaft connects the blades, and pulley. The spindle shaft spins with the pulley, moving the blade, it spins using bearings inside the spindle housing. This is the shaft only, and sold individually, the bearings, and associative parts are available separately.

Spindle worn out threads torn up

Removed the deck from the mower. Removed the blade assembly. Removed the bolt from the deck pulley or spindle pulley. Removed the spacer. With a steel rod I punched out the defective spindle. I removed the bottom bearing from the old spindle and pressed it on the new spindle.I inserted the spindle in the housing. Used a block of wood to i nsert the top bearing. I installed the spacer, pulley. Then tightened down the pulley nut. Replaced the blade assembly .Then installed the deck.

Removed the deck and took the belt off then removed the blade and knocked the old spindle out. I then used the air hammer to remove the outer race of the bad bearing. Put spacers and new spindle in and put the pulley and blade back on and reattached the deck to the lawnmower and checked and leveled the deck.

End of spindle shaft stripped

Remove belt from pulley , used impact to take nut off pulley. Used a rubber mallet to drive shaft out of spindle. Put new shaft in, reattached pulley, reinstalled belt and mower blade.
